To His Honor Stewart Stevenson Moore Esquire his Majesty's first Deemster of this Isle and Judge
of the said Division.
The Humble petition of William Edward Kaye of Ballamillaghn in the parish of Braddan Farmer
and Margaret Kaye his wife.
Sheweth:
Evan Kaye late of Ballamillaghn in the parish of Braddan retired farmer departed this life on or
about the 11th day of May 1921 having first duly made and executed his last Will and Testament in
writing bearing date the 10th, day of March 1921 whereof he appointed your petitioner Margaret
Kaye sole executrix…….
The said Margaret Kaye being under coverture your petitioners are desirous that Letters of
Administration of the personal estate and effects of the said Evan Kaye deceased with his said Will
annexed be granted to some fit and proper person so long as the said Margaret Kaye shall continue
under her present disability.
Whereof your petitioners humbly pray a hearing hereof and that your Honor may be pleased to
grant Letters of Administration of the personal estate and effects of the said Evan Kaye deceased
with his said Will annexed to your petitioner the said William Edward Kaye or to some other fit and
proper person during such period as the said Margaret Kaye shall continue under disability and
petitioners will pray etc.

Ordered that this petition do come on to be heard at a court to be holden at Douglas on Monday the
13th day of June 1921 at 10.30 o'clock in the forenoon whereof all proper parties and persons to
have due notice given this 11th day of June 1921

This is the last Will and Testament of me Evan Kaye of Ballamillaghyn Farm in the parish of
Braddan.
I hereby revoke all wills by me at any time heretofore made, and declare this to be my Last Will and
Testament.
I appoint Margaret Kaye, wife of William Edward Kaye of Ballamillaghyn Farm in the parish of
Braddan to be Executrix of this my will and direct that all my debts and Funeral and Testamentary
Expenses be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.
I give and bequeath to the aforesaid Margaret Kaye the whole of my personal and real estate for her
separate absolutely.
As Witness my name hereto this 10th day of March in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and
twenty one.

presence of Margaret Quine and Jas Kelly.

Common Law Division Testamentary Jurisdiction
At a Chapter court holden at Douglas on the 11th day of July 1921.
The annexed paper writing dated the 10th day of March 1921 having been proved to be the Last Will
and Testament of Evan Kaye late of Ballamillaghyn in the parish of Braddan retired farmer
deceased who died ? on the 11th day of May 1921 and Margaret Kaye (wife of William Edward
Kaye of Ballamillghyn aforesaid farmer) the Executrix named in the said Will having named the
testate and executor thereof.
This Court hath therefore granted administration (with his will annexed of the personal estate and
effects of the said Evan Kaye deceased to the said William Edward Kaye and accordingly he is
sworn well and faithfully to administer the personal estate of the said Evan Kaye deceased
according to Law and in ? of the said Will

In the Goods of Evan Kaye deceased know all men by these presents that we William Edward Kaye
of Ballamillaghyn in the parish of Braddan farmer, John Thomas Scarffe of The Strang in the parish
of Braddan Mason and James Bridson of 20 Belmont Terrace in the borough of Douglas Postman
are jointly and severally and any two of us jointly bound unto our Soverign Lord the King in the
sum of two thousand pounds to the payment whereof, well and truly to be made to our said Lord the
King, his heirs and successors, we bind and oblige ourselves jointly and severally, and any two of
us jointly, our Executors and Administrators firmly by these presents.
As witness our subscriptions the eleventh day of June in the year of Our Lord one thousand nine
hundred and twenty one. The condition of our obligation is such that, if the above named William
Edward Kaye (hereinafter called the Administrator) who seeks to obtain Letters of Administration,
cum testamento annexo, of all and singular the personal estate and effects of Evan Kaye late of
Ballamillighyn in the parish of Braddan retired farmer but now deceased, who died on or about the
11th day of May 1921, at Ballamillaghyn aforesaid do, when lawfully called on in that behalf, make
or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the personal estate and effects of
the said deceased which have or shall come into his hands, possession, or knowledge, or into the
hand of any other person for him and the same so made do exhibit, or cause to be exhibited, into the
proper Registry in that behalf whenever required by laws so to do: And the same personal estate
and effects, and all other the personal estate and effects of the said deceased which shall at any time
come into the hand or possession of the Administrator, or into the hands or possession of any other
person for him or which without default might have come into the hand or possession of the
Administrator do well and truly administer according to law, that is to say, do pay the debts and
liabilities of the said deceased, and the legacies bequeathed by the said will so fas as the said
personal estate will extend and the law bind the Administrator, and to deliver and pay unto the
person or persons legally entitled thereto all the rest and residue of the said personal estate and
effects, then this obligation to be void and of no effect, or else to remain in full force and virtue.

the same to be their Act and Deed.

I Margaret Kaye wife of William Edward Kaye of Ballamillaghyn Braddan aforesaid Farmer the
Executrix appointed under the Will dated the 10th day of March 1921 of the said Evan Kaye
deceased do herby renounce the execution thereof and desire that Administration of the personal
estate and effects of the said Evan Kaye deceased with his said Will annexed be granted to my said
husband William Edward Kaye. As witness my name this 12th day of July 1921.
