In  2003, Rod Palm and his colleagues recovered a vintage anchor offshore Tofino BC. They formed the Tonquin Foundation to facilitate further study and exploration of this exciting discovery.

Coastal Geoscience Research Corporation (CGRC) was contacted by the Tonquin Foundation and asked to carry outgeophysical remote sensing surveys of the site to determine the location of any other artifacts that may lie nearby.

Accordingly,CGRC organized and executed a marine magnetometer and subbottom survey over the site.

This map shows a string of anomalies roughly aligned across the top of the image. These are probably crab traps. Other scattered anomalies are potential sites for further investigations.
