Freeze coring is a special bottom sampling method that allows the top unconsolidated sediment layers to be captured.
Other methods destroy this delicate stratification on impact. This method is particulary good for sampling flocculant
debris under fish farms, log booming grounds, pulp mill outfalls, sewer outfalls, etc.
