ok now everyone's happy. see the smiley  symbols!  the partitioner created a second primary  and a swap partition from the free space.  so ubuntu will be installed into the second primary partition, and it will be of type ext3. if you don't know about swap or ext3,  don't worry about it, its all good.choose finish partitioning and hit enter

ok, after a bit you will see this.  choose yes. grub is a boot loader and will give you the option of which os you can choose at start up
