Season Recap

               

              The season has finally concluded.  It has been a long time as we began in mid September with open gyms and finished with the provincials in beginning of March.  Our tournament run began with the Districts where we ended up playing Yale in the final.  Once again they won but not after a solid effort by our team.  We then moved on to the Fraser Valleys .  We received a first round bye in the qualifying round and then defeated Bateman to enter the final eight tournament.  We again faced Yale and played another great game but lost in the final minutes.  We won our second game versus Earl Marriot to keep our chance for a qualifying berth to the provincial.  We came up against another tough team which we had lost to in the beginning of the season.  Riverside played us tough and it was close up until the last few minutes when they went on a 6 point run which we could not recover from.  We ended up finishing 5th.

            As we were hosting the provincials this year we were given a host berth into the tournament.  This meant we had to play the number 1 seed which this year was South Kamloops.  We knew we had our work cut out for us and we played some of our best ball in the first half but were still down by 20 points.  Kamloops went on to win by 35 and eventually won the whole tournament.  Our second and third games were within our reach to win but we came up short in both games.  We came out ready to play in the last game and won by 20. 

            Overall we played 32 games and our record ended up being 19 wins and 13 losses.
