Ephesians
IV Ephesians 1:1-23 Notice that the entire 1st chapter of Ephesians is all about what God has done and not about anything we've done. Example: "He hath". "According as He hath." "According to His good pleasure." "To the praise of His glory." "Hath made us accepted." In whom we have redemption." "According to the riches of His grace." "Which He has purposed." "Wherein He hath abounded towards us." "He might gather us together in one." "In whom we have obtained." "Him who worketh." If we were to keep score as to how much He has done versus what we have done, the score would be 100 to "0." Friends, this ought to be more than enough evidence that this Gospel is entirely about grace and not of any of our works. It is all about "Christ, Minus Us, Plus Nothing." Notice also that Paul does not make mentioned of the law having to do something with receiving "blessings," 'Grace," "Peace," Choosing us," "Holy, and blameless," "Adoption through the law of works," "Redemption," "Acceptance," etc. Friends, none of what God had already purposed to do for the whole world came by the law of Moses or any of our filthy rags. God's "Grace" is written all over this chapter. "God's Riches At Christ's Expense." That's what it is all about. The only way anyone has ever inherited the kingdom of God has been through the grace of God in Christ Jesus. The young rich ruler found that out. He had kept all of the laws that Jesus had mentioned and yet Jesus told him that he lacked one thing. One can live a moral life, a self holy life, a human sin abstaining life, a life consisting of godly principles and good works, and such life will never be good enough in the eyes of God. God is not looking for people who believe are doing it all right. He is looking for those who have never done anything right. God made sure that the "Young Rich Ruler" had nothing to boast about. Jesus made it so impossible, that besides saying that one "must be born again of the Spirit" in order to inherit the kingdom of God, He also said that one "must eat His flesh," "drink His blood," "become like a little child" and "sell ALL that one owns and give it to the poor." Jesus made it totally impossible for anyone to think that they could earn salvation through their own works. He shut the door to self-righteousness completely and said: "Hey, if you climb or try to get in any other way, you are a thief." John 10. Friends, the biggest injustice to the Gospel of God's grace has been done right here in America. "The American Gospel" is about the most perverted, corrupted and demonic next to the witchcraft that "Peter, James and John" were practicing and preaching. It is a gospel about "look what I have done and look what I am doing.' "Look at what God and me are doing and have done together." "Look at what God showed me that He wants all of you to do." "God has told me, and revealed to me by His Spirit that you need to do this in order to get that, and if you don't do it, then God will not give you what you have asked for." It is a gospel of conditions, and self-righteous works. Total and complete witchcraft. A dangerous gospel. If we were to read Ephesians Chapter 1 in light of today's "American gospel", it would read something like this: "War and wrath from God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ". "God will bless you with all spiritual blessings through Christ if you obey Him, serve Him and believe in Him." "It is all according to how you behave." "Your good works is what determines if you are worthy of being called holy and found blameless." "Your predestination is determined by the direction you have decided to go in life." If you are going in the direction of total obedience, then God will predestinate you to heaven." "But if you're not going in the direction that God has commanded you, then you are predestined for torment and hell." "If the words that come out of your mouth and your thoughts, behavior and giving line up with the word of The Lord, then you are no doubt an adopted child of God and worthy of receiving redemption and salvation." "You will be accepted in the beloved if you continue to confess your sins and do what is right." "If you don't, then you are out of God's will and you are not under His good pleasure." "If you want God to bless you, heal you and use you, then you need to prove it in your giving." "God will not use a dirty vessel." "If you aren't tithing then you are robbing God." Friends, why people aren't getting the picture of the "American Evangelical Christian perverted gospel," I don't know? But if there was ever an illusion, and a great deception, it hasn't been God nor the devil who has sent it. It is the pulpit of this great nation we live in that has and continues to put people under the manipulating religious illusion that they are deserving of all that God has done because of what they are doing. It is sickening, repulsive and down right filthy to believe that God has blessed us, adopted us, predestinated us, be found holy, blameless, redeemed and forgiven of all sin because of what we have done. It is pure witchcraft. That goes for every single religion, cult and occult who teaches that in order to receive from God it has to be according to what they are doing and sacrificing. Friends, everything that God has ever done out of His good pleasure for the entire world has been done in and through Christ Jesus. It is not of us, nor because of us, nor through us. Read Romans 11:32-36. Our inheritance has come through Christ. We inherit nothing through any of our performance. To believe and think that it is because of what we do that God has blessed us with all of these things mentioned in Chapter One of Ephesians, is to deny the work of the cross, and not understand His unconditional love. I once witnessed a man tell another man: "First you confess all of your sins, then you believe to be saved." "Then you become God's adopted child." "Once you have been chosen and God approves of you, He then predestinates you, makes you holy and blameless, and God will begin to show you the mystery of His will for your life." I then told the man who had been witnessed to: "Run while you still have time because you don't want to stick around to hear what will happen to you if you don't follow the witnessing instructions that this guy just told you about." Friends, this Gospel is all about the praise of His glory, not ours. Grace N Peace Eddie Narvaez
