Ephesians
VII Ephesians 1:1-23 As we move right along to verse 17 we read what Paul's heart desire was for the people at Ephesus. If Paul were to be alive today, he probably be hoping the same of the Evangelical Church. Please look at verses 17 through 23 and read for yourselves what it was that Paul's heart desire was for the church at Ephesus. Now, these are other verses that have been totally raped and turned into religious mush by the Evangelical pulpit. They have taken these verses out of their context and made them out to be something for their own profit and financial gain. Example: "There is yet another spirit we need to ask of the Lord, and that is the spirit of wisdom and revelation." "Yes, brothers and sisters, besides you having the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ, the Spirit of God, there is yet another spirit to be sought after. This is the very spirit that Paul talks about in 1 Corinthians chapter 12. Paul is making reference to the gifts of the spirit. If you want to know the revelation and knowledge of Him that God has prepared for you, then you must ask God to give it to you. Otherwise you will never understand how to walk in the spirit of wisdom and revelation." Friends, if you believe such garbage, I have a Camel that I would like to sell you that talks and serves water. I don't even have to quote the rest of the verses along the same line that I just quoted verse 17. It is nauseating to me. So what is the wisdom and revelation that Paul's heart desired for the people at Ephesus to know? Well, we need to go back almost to the beginning of the chapter and review all that we read up to this point. "That God salutes you with grace and peace." "That He is no longer angry with anyone." "That He has blessed all with all spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus." "That we are seated with Him in heavenly places according to how He has chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world." "That by having the spirit of wisdom, God has now revealed to us all that we are all holy in His sight, and blameless because of His love." "That the knowledge we should all have of Him is that He has predestinated us all to be His adopted children by Jesus Christ according to the good pleasure of His will." "That is all to the praise of the glory of His grace, and we've all been accepted in the beloved." "That the eyes of our understanding will bring
us to the complete knowledge of Him in that He has redeemed all through
His blood, and forgiven all of their sins according to the riches of
His grace." Friends, I can go on and on and on, but the picture is clear, the evidence is obvious. These, and many more are the things that Paul's heart desire for the people at Ephesus to understand. This is the wisdom and revelation that Paul wanted everyone to open their eyes to. That everyone would know what the hope of His calling, and what the riches of His glory, and the inheritance for all was. That everyone would know or have knowledge of the exceeding greatness of His power. The which was all and is all wrought in Jesus and not in any of us nor the keeping to any law. That this entire work is the work of God, the Son and the Holy Ghost and that it is all according to His good pleasure and has nothing to do with man nor religion. It is Christ who God has seated at His own right hand. It is not any of the "Word of Faith" preachers nor any of the intellectuals of the "Ken Hanegraff" theological cemetery group. Christ is seated far above all of their power. Verse 21 is not talking about a spiritual warfare between you and the devil. It is simply talking about a war already won and that's the reason why Christ is seated above all dominion, power and principalities. It was for Christ, through Christ, in Christ and because of Christ that the whole world is now seen as being seated in heavenly places in the eyes of God because Jesus satisfied all the claims of justice. It is Christ and only Christ who's name is above every name on earth, heaven and hell. He has put all things under His feet. That includes the devil and "Begging Hinn." It was God who gave Him to be head over all things, which is His body, and in Him all things consist and hold together. Colossians 2:20. It is Christ who filleth all in all and for all. Friends, these are the things that God wants the Evangelical Church to open their eyes to. These are the things that Paul's heart desired that the people at Ephesus would understand. This is the spirit (attitude) of wisdom and revelation that Paul was talking about. If we keep it all in context everything makes sense and falls into place, thus leading us to peace of mind and a heart established in grace. It doesn't get any better than this. That we all know that everything was done according to God's own will and pleasure. That it all boils down to "Christ, Minus Us, Plus Nothing." Do I hear an Amen and a Hallelujah? This is as good as it gets. Thank You Jesus. Thank God for Grace. Grace N Peace Eddie Narvaez |
