Preaching Pimps

"For many years I drove the nicest cars, wore top of the line clothing, had heavy duty expensive gold hanging around my neck, and flashed the biggest diamond rings on almost every finger. Women sold their honey so that I could make my money. I carried more money on me than HFC gave out on loans. I had my own private jet, and buddy guards. People feared me and respected me. There wasn't a place in Las Vegas that didn't know me. New York City was my hood, but Chicago was my groove. At the snap of a finger or a wink of an eye I took care of those who tried to do me in."

"No one had a meaner look than me, and no one dared to put their paws on me. When I walked into a bar, or into a place where babe's did their thing, the music would stop, the greetings would begin and the women would hang all over me. I ate at the finest restaurants, never worked at a 9 to 5 job, and travel the world in style while making sure that people's drug habits were satisfied. I always packed just in case there was some flack. Pimping was all I knew, and I had enough green to buy the powder. They called me the 'smooth operator'."

"I was a gifted rapper. I jived just about anyone, and had them eating off my alligator shoes. They didn't come as smooth and sweet talking as me. You can say that I was king of my jungle. Fancy hats and leather coats. Silky ties and shiny suits. Women loved me, and the fuzz were out to lock me up. Then one day I gave my life over to religion, gave up my pimping lifestyle, and became a preacher. It didn't take me long before I had me a large church, and I found myself again driving a fancy car, flying my own jet, living in a fancy house, wearing fancy clothes, nice jewelry and became well known and respected."

"I saw myself as the "Preaching Pimp," but instead of making my money from women, packing for protection, satisfying people's needs for dope, I used religion to pimp my way through life, and made my money from those who believed my religious doctrinal lies. I always wore a big diamond cross around my neck, and as a street pimp I always did believe in the good old Lord. The only difference between then and now, is that back then I pimped for money, and I now I pimp for glory. Yet, I haven't lost my rapping touch. I now have people eating off my religious alligator shoes."

"So it can be said that there's not much of a difference between a street pimp and a pulpit pimp when it comes to deceiving people. They both have much in common. They both manipulate, deceive, control, don't work a 9 to 5 job, and live a pretty comfortable life at the expense of the suckers who fall for their lies. Not all Preachers are pimps, and not all pimps are preachers, but they all have much in common. Some may not like my comparison, but I believe that Preachers and Pimps do have a lot in common. They are both 'smooth operators'.
