Romans 1:1-32

Paul introduces himself to the people at Rome as a servant of Jesus Christ, who had been called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God. Noticed what Paul had been separated unto the goodnews of God. He was not, nor did God ever told Paul that he had been separated to continue preaching the bad news of Moses or mixing it with grace. Friends, if God has separated us unto anything, it has been to none other than the Gospel of His dear Son and nothing more.

As far as "apostles" are concerned the final revelation of grace was given to Paul. There aren't any more apostles. Jesus was the last apostle. Religion may come up with their own version of apostle, but it is all connected to some self-righteous works of performance on their part. Man may continue to call themselves apostles today, and the people may perceive them because of ignorance and religious tradition as being so, but the truth is clear. Jesus was our last apostle just as Hebrews says that God has spoken His last words through His Son.

According to verse 2, the which is in parenthesis, God had made this promise of separating Paul unto the goodnews of Christ by the prophets of old the which is found in the old testament scriptures of the bible (books). Paul had a very good understanding of the old testament and he found that all of these things that God had promised were concerning His Son Jesus Christ, and not any man or religion according to verse 3. Everything that David prayed, prophesied, and said was all about Jesus.

Paul says that God declared Jesus to be His Son with power. God never made such a great declaration about anyone else. It was the spirit of the holiness of Christ that brought about His resurrection. The covenant (promise) was made between God and the Son and it was written long ago by the prophets under the old testament concerning the goodnews and the power that was to come through Jesus Christ and Him alone. Paul was nothing more than the separated messenger of the goodnews.

The promise (all promises) was fulfilled in Jesus, and because of Jesus obedience and faith we have now received grace and it is now known throughout all the nations because of Jesus name. There is, was and there is still only one name under heaven and earth whereby salvation comes. The name of Jesus. The holy one of God. The one who conquered sin, the law, the grave and was resurrected from the dead unto justification of all men. "GRACE" -- "God's Riches At Christ's Expense." As a result of all that Jesus has done, we are also called of God.

According to Paul, ALL in Rome were considered as beloved of God. The salutation of grace and peace was made unto all because of what Jesus had done and God had promised. The salutation came from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. The salutation has always been one of grace and peace. God is no longer saluting us with wrath and dealing with anyone according to their sins. If God were to be still dealing with man through the wrath of the law and man's sins, don't you think that He would have done something about it by now?

According to verse 9 Paul called God to be his witness, whom he served with all of his heart in the goodnews of God's Son. Paul always desired to visit with people who he had shared the gospel with in many different places. He always had them in mind and remembered them. He was always willing to impart financial gifts with those who lacked, and always sought the help of other churches to help those churches that were struggling. Preaching the Gospel was no easy task for Paul. Not only did he helped others financially, but he also imparted spiritual understanding as a gift so that people be grounded in grace.

Paul was a very unselfish person. Unlike most of the men, and even countrymen that opposed him, and were selfish in their ambition for power and recognition, Paul preach the Gospel to financially provide and also set free from the bondage of the law. Something that is unheard of today. In fact, the very opposite is true today. The Gospel is preached for self ambition, and gain today. The larger the church, the ministry, the babble college, the more finances are asked out of people so that these large religious institutions can continue to built and beg for help. Forget about the needy and the struggling.

Now, in verse 13 Paul says that he had come to Rome to impart and share some fruit amongst some other Gentiles. Evidently some of the Gentiles had been persuaded to return to serving the law of Moses after hearing about God's gift of grace in Christ Jesus apart from any of the works of the law, as we will see in later chapters. Notice who Paul said he had become debtor to in verse 14. He did not say that he had become a minister or called to be an apostle of them that believed and had it all together. Paul had been called to preach the goodnews of Jesus Christ to ALL.

God did not call him to preach another set of Moses rules, laws and regulations to the Jews nor to anyone else. The fruit was the goodnews of the Gospel of Christ. He came to impart the good fruit of the Gospel of Christ to the entire nation of Rome. To every nationality, and ethnic group. It did not matter who they were and what they were. He came to preach the goodnews of Christ to All. Something that we don't see today. The grace of God that is being preached today is a conditional grace and doctrine of rotten fruit of badnews. A gospel of law mixed in with the fruit of grace.
