Romans 5:1-21

This 5th chapter of Romans is a very powerful yet simple chapter. Friends, God justified us all so that there would be peace between us and Him. We are at peace with God because of the faith of Christ, the work of Christ and the shed blood of Christ. God is no longer dealing with anyone according to their sins. It is religion and the man made doctrines of old and of today that is still judging others of sin. In essence Paul was telling the people at Rome "Hey, goodnews, God is no longer angry with any of you. The law has been fulfilled, your sins forever forgiven and all of you now have access into His grace."

"Because of the faith of Jesus you no longer need to sacrifice any animals to a high priest, nor make any vows in order to enter into the holy of holies. You now stand before God without blemish, spot or wrinkle. The perfect sacrifice of God took place at the cross of Calvary and the blood of Jesus was sufficient enough to do away with all sins. Now you can stand and rejoice and give the glory to God without ever having to worry about keeping to the law of Moses or fearing that you have been found guilty of breaking it. All of the law, the prophets and the psalms have been fulfilled in Jesus."

"The final judgment took place at the cross in the body of Jesus and God is no longer angry with anyone, and He has now allowed us all access into this grace where we all now stand and rejoice. This is the goodnews that I bring to all of you here at Rome and to the entire world." Friends, if we ever allow our heart's to embrace the goodnews that Paul shares with us all in these first two verses of Romans, our heart's will be so established in grace that when the religious trials of condemnation, fear and guilt raises up their ugly lying head, it will not shake us nor move us.

Our attitude will be one of glory and praise knowing that God is no longer bringing judgment, trials or tribulations to test our faith because there is now peace between God and us. The lying doctrines that have been preached for years out of verses 3 and 4 of Romans chapter 5, telling us that God puts us through trials and tribulations so that we can develop patience, is a lie! We are patient because we know that God is no longer angry with us. We are hopeful because we know that we have free access into His grace by the faith and finished work of Jesus.

We are now experienced enough to know that God is no longer angry with us because He has forgiven us all of our sins, fulfilled the law, and we no longer are ashamed to admit such truth because the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost who Jesus called "The Comforter," "The Great Teacher" and the one who has led us into all truth. The work of the Holy Spirit is not to condemn, but to comfort. It is not to convict us of sin but of righteousness. It is not to bring us under bondage and fear but to confirm that the love (not the law) of God has been shed into our hearts assuring us of grace and peace.

I just love verse 6 "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly." For those who are still living a puffed up, religious self-righteous, holier than thou, and who think that you are more godly than those you judge outside of your religious circle, as being ungodly, don't worry, this verse is not talking to you. Jesus often said that He had not come for the righteous nor the well. Thank God that Jesus died just in time for the ungodly. If you see yourself as being godly in comparison to those who you believe and feel that are ungodly, then Jesus did not died for you.

He died for the ungodly, and the ungodly includes everyone all the way from Adam to Christ. Under the law God did render tribulation and anguish to every soul who did not obey the law, be it Jew or Gentile. Romans 2:9. Thank God that such is not the case anymore. Every ungodly and self made religious godly person doesn't need to worry about having to perform for God, nor fear that they haven't been good enough for God. God sent Jesus to die for all ungodly men, women and children when all were without hope and helpless.

The final goodnews of this wonderful Gospel of the grace and peace of God is that He is no longer angry with anyone nor dealing with anyone according to their sins. It is religion and their deadly works oriented self-righteous doctrines of witchcraft that continue to judge people of sin, and find fault with them. It is religion that makes us weak, fearful and ashamed. It is the Christian Jewish Religion in America, consisting of the 'Pat Robertson's' legalists that have, and continue to deny the finished work of the cross by judging to hell those who they feel are ungodly. Thank God that just in time Jesus died for the ungodly.

To be continued...
