"Focus On The Family" James Dobson is on a mission. His latest
mission is "Enough Is Enough." In his most recent mailing
to God knows how many people, he is asking for financial support of
25 dollars to 100 dollars to stop the homosexuals move towards same
sex marriages and benefits entitlement. He is even willing to match
the contributions with his own $500,000 out of pocket donation to make
sure that congress and the senate defeat the propose 'gay bill.'
It looks like Mr. Dobson has reached a point where all deals are off,
all gloves are off, the gentle loving, and forgiving approach towards
homosexuals is out the window, and is now war! Now, Mr. Dobson is entitled
to his views and opinions concerning the issue of same sex marriages.
Not everything that Mr. Dobson opposes concerning 'gay marriages' is
wrong.
He makes some interesting points concerning the sanctity of marriage
and how God has never changed His mind concerning the unity of marriage
between a man and a woman. However, I believe that they are a few factors
that have led much of the 'gay community' to do what they are pushing
so hard for in Washington. I feel, that just as Mr. Dobson has reached
a boiling point of "Enough Is Enough," so has the 'gay' community.
When a group of men and women continue to experience constant rejection
and condemnation for years and years, from a religious group who are
known to tolerate and are willing to sweep under the rug any other form
of bad behavior, such as adultery, gambling, drugs and what have you,
as long as it is not homosexual activity, I can see why the 'gay' community
would go as far as they have gone in their agenda to fight for what
they believe is fair, and resist the religious right coalition.
I am not in agreement with some 'gay' groups when it comes to the recruiting
and the influencing of young people to learn, accept and embrace the
'gay' lifestyle, no more than being in agreement with a religious group
who goes around recruiting and influencing young people to be brainwashed
to a lifestyle of manipulation, deception and control. Two wrongs don't
make a right.
I am no Doctor, Biologist or Scientist, and I don't think anyone has
been able to really put a finger on whether or not homosexuality is
a learned behavior or something to do with a physical or emotional chemical
imbalance. There are many debates on the issue. I also want to clear
the air by saying that I am not endorsing the 'gay' lifestyle no more
than I would endorse the legalistic religious lifestyle.
However, the danger that I find with Mr. James "Bond" Dobson's
Religious agenda, is that it can lead a religious uprising of violence
in this country by some fanatical, religious legalistic groups towards
the 'gay' community, that will lead people to an exodus of execution
of what they believe is a sin against God. Look at what almost took
place when the government began to remove the Ten Commandment heavy
cement block that a religious zealot legalistic judge wanted to keep
in a Federal facility. Evangelical's were ready to fight to their death.
So what is the difference between a 'Pat Robertson' group that is trying
to get congress and senate to pass his religious hidden agenda, and
that of the homosexual community? The recent letter that Mr. Dobson
sent out to his followers is enough to anger many religious people.
For Mr. Dobson to preach that homosexuality is a serious sin against
God and humanity, and categorized that sin as being worse than other
sins, is not only ignorance on Mr. Dobson's part, but is an outright
insult to the cross of Christ where all sins and sin were nailed to
the cross. Friends, if Mr. Dobson, and many other so called religious
scholars like him are going to quote the book of Leviticus, chapter
1 of Romans, and 1 Corinthians chapter 6, to prove their out of context
stand against homosexuality, then they better read the rest of the text.
Lets just look at verse 9 &10 of 1 Corinthians chapter 6, and lets
see what other things are mentioned in the chapter that would prevent
someone from inheriting the kingdom of God had not Jesus died on the
cross for the sin of all men. Let's see what Paul included in the verse,
other than the sin of homosexuality that if it were possible would keep
someone out of the kingdom of God. Look at what the verse says.......
"Don't you know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom
of God? Be not deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers,
nor homosexuals, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves,
nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit
the kingdom of God." Now, Mr. Dobson, the list doesn't end there.
You ought to read what Paul said in Romans chapter 1 verses 29 through
3, then go on to what Paul continues to say in verses 9 through 10 of
1 Timothy chapter 1, not to mention the Levitical law. Then ask yourself:
"Who are the unrighteous?" Aren't the unrighteous those who
are still trusting in the law and denying the grace of God that came
through Christ?
Friends, "James "Bond" Dobson, and the likes, are not
as sharp as we have made them out to be and as they have led us to believe
about themselves. I wonder if Mr. Dobson, who like other religious want
to be dictators, has sent a copy of his letter to Vice President Dick
Channey, who's daughter is a lesbian? Why isn't Mr. Dobson coming down
just as strong against these other groups that Paul mentions in 1 Cor.
6:9 and in many other of his letters? Who died and made James 'Bond'
Dobson God? Friends, why isn't Mr. Dobson fighting as hard to get congress
to stop 'Priest's' from molesting children and engaging in homosexual
activities?
Do I believe that Mr. Dobson is wrong in his attempt to promote morality
in every facet of life? No! - I commend him and others like him for
such efforts. However, it would serve Mr. Dobson well if he just sticks
with his psychological expertise, and stop trying to play politician,
god, judge, jury and executioner. If it were left up to men like Mr.
Dobson, they would do away with the constitution of the United States,
and we would all be living under an Eastern Religion dictatorship of
an 'Eye for and Eye and a Tooth for a Tooth.' I wonder how Mr. James
'Bond' Dobson feels about the excuse of weapons of mass destruction
that President 'Bush' used to invade Iraq, kill millions of innocent
people and sacrifice the lives of hundreds of American soldiers?
What a terrible thought it is, to think what it would be like if people
like James 'Bond' Dobson would be allowed to choose who gets punished
and who gets freedom? Friends, common sense tells us that it is very
obvious how men like Mr. Dobson will use and abuse biblical texts to
justify his religious bias and hypocritical agenda. Mr. Dobson is the
one who offers counseling for many Pastor's who are addicted to Internet
Porno, involved in adulterous affairs and compulsive gambling, to mention
but a few. How hypocritical of all of these James 'Bond' Dobson's think
alike and want to do alike in trying to legislate morality and then
hide behind God's skirt to prove their point.
Yes, I am all for encouraging people to do what is right and avoid hurting
themselves by indulging in things that are wrong. But to condemn one
group above another, and to preach that one sin is greater than another,
is just outright stupidity. We may not all like nor agree with what
the homosexual community is doing. However, not only are these men and
women human beings who were forgiven of all sin at the cross, but these
men and women are also children who's parents loves them very much,
and accepts them for who they are, just as Mr. Dobson believes that
many men and women of the cloth and the pulpit should be accepted even
though they struggle with all sorts of immoral behaviors.
It is letters like Mr. Dobson's, to the religious community, that will
continue to deceive people into thinking that we are still living under
the tree of "good and evil", and will lead more and more people
into more rebellion, resistance and dislike for the things of God, as
long as men like James 'Bond' Dobson continue to preach a perverted
gospel and not realize the true meaning of what the 'tree of life' in
Christ Jesus stands for. "For all have sinned and come short of
the glory of God," and that includes you Mr. 'Bond,' because if
you are quoting the law, and mixing grace with it, but aren't keeping
to the whole law yourself, then you become guilty of it all, and that
means that you are just as guilty of the act of homosexuality as those
who you judge.
