Romans 5:1-21

Sin simply means 'missing the mark.' In other words, there is no one that has not been found guilty of sin. Sin gets its strength from the law. Sin wasn't being held against anyone until the law of Moses came into play. Notice what it was that entered and gave sin that much more strength. "Moreover THE LAW entered, that the offense (sin) might abound." Now, get ready to shout as you read the last part of verse 20..."But (got to love that 'BUT') where sin abounded, GRACE (not works or law) did MUCH MORE abound." Friends, the shouting for joy, thanksgiving and hallelujah doesn't end there. The verse ends at verse 21.

Please allow me to put verse 21 to you in my theological Puerto Rican Version: "Sin started in the garden when Adam blew it for the entire world. Sin began to rule from the moment Adam sinned and it brought death to every single man and woman thereafter. Then the law of Moses gave sin that much more power. But then came the grace of God through His Son Jesus Christ, and now the grace of God rules and reigns in abounding righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord." If you aren't getting this, and shouting for joy at the top of your lungs, then you better check your pulse.

One man blew it for all. Moses gave the law and it gave sin to abound that much more. But then came the last man, Jesus, and where sin had reign, ruled and abounded for years and years. The new man, Jesus, came and imputed His righteousness upon all through the death upon the cross. If this is not the best of grace goodnews that you have ever heard, then go ahead and stick with the religious legalistic bondage and nonsense that men like 'Kenneth Copeland' and others like him teach and preach. Friends, grace now reigns through the righteousness of Christ for all and there is nothing else to look for.

This righteousness of grace doesn't come and will never come nor be recognized by anything that we do, are doing or will ever do. Just as we all were found guilty of sin through the one man, now all are found righteous before God through the obedience of another. You did not become a sinner through your disobedience. You became a sinner way before you knew what sin was through the disobedience of Adam. You did not have to believe in Adam to become a sinner, no more than you had to believed in Jesus to be made righteous. You were made a sinner through Adam and made righteous through Christ.

Your sin did not come as the result of the bad you had done. It came as the result of what Adam had already done. The same can be said about becoming righteous before God. You did not earned God's righteousness through what you had done or not done. You became righteous when Christ died upon the cross. When Jesus became sin for you that's when you were made righteous before God. 2 Cor. 5:21. You did not become a sinner through your wicked works, no more than you became righteous through your good works. You were made a sinner by ONE man and righteous by the perfect works of another.

Its no wonder the author of the letter of Hebrews said: "As far as the east is from the west, your sins He will remember no more." So if grace has abounded that much more of where sin abounded, then why are we confessing our sins? Is any of this making any sense to anyone? Is anyone reading or getting the articles on this study of the letter of Paul to the Romans, or am I just spitting into the wind? Come on people, pass this on to everyone you know who is still believing that this Gospel is for some and not for all and who are still believing that God is still holding sin against the world. 2 Cor. 5:19.

To be continued....

Grace N Peace
