About the Artist

Lori Farrow recently left the corporate world to become a full-time working artist and art instructor at the Neighborhood Art Studio and Gallery in White Rock, BC. She has earned a Diploma of Fine Arts with distinction from Kwantlen University College and is currently represented by:

The Tunbridge Well Fine Art Gallery
1117 Vidal St, White Rock, BC
Phone: 604-542-1000

Her current series is an intimate exploration of waterscapes, treescapes, light, pattern and reflections. The spaces depicted in the paintings are enclosed and private; they are scenes in which motion and time is suspended; where the ensuing composition is as important as the pure, saturated colours. Much of the imagery is derived from West Coast wetlands and conservation sites and often alludes to themes of man's interaction with nature.

Another series depicts bold images of flowers where pure colour and vigorous impasto brush strokes contrast with the delicate petals. Focusing on negative shapes, light and form the paintings are unavoidable -- pushing the limits of the canvas.
