Tim has worked in the environmental industry for 12 years, providing
consultation and project management to oil and gas companies operating in Alberta,
Saskatchewan and Montana. He has been directly involved with several ongoing,
large-scale drilling programs for the past 8 years, in which time he has gained
valuable knowledge relating to numerous facets of oil and gas field operations. Troy Jorgenson - Environmental Consultant/Project Manager e-mail: - tjorgenson@lowimpact.ca Troy has 15 years experience in the environmental field, with the last 11 in the oil and gas sector. He has been previously employed with Wildlife Habitat Canada and Saskatchewan Environment. He has been involved with the environmental assessments and supervision/monitoring of numerous oil and gas programs including large seismic programs throughout the prairies, parkland and boreal forest. He is responsible for site assessments, wildlife surveys, report writing and review as well as environmental monitoring/supervision of oil and gas programs in sensitive areas. He has coordinated numerous Project Proposals, Environmental Protection Plans and Reclamation Plans throughout Saskatchewan and southeast Alberta. Shane Faechner - Environmental Consultant e-mail: - sfaechner@lowimpact.ca Shane joined Low Impact Environmental in the spring of 2003 and brings with him 10 years of experience in the environmental field. He has a strong background in analytical environmental services with an international environmental laboratory. Shane also has skills and experience associated with hydrometric, meteorological, surface and groundwater quality/monitoring with Alberta Environment, including watershed protection studies partnered with the oil and gas industry in Alberta. In addition, he has been involved with the environmental assessments and supervision/monitoring of numerous oil and gas operations including seismic programs throughout the prairies, parkland and boreal forest. He is also involved with conducting site assessment, wildlife surveys and technical report writing and presentation. He has been involved in numerous Project Proposals, Environmental Protection Plans and Mitigation/Restoration Plans throughout Saskatchewan and southeast Alberta. Shane holds certification in various first aid, safety and training courses complementing his education and experience. Taylor Peck, B.Sc., P. Biol - Biologist/Environmental Consultant e-mail: - tpeck@lowimpact.ca Taylor has 9 years experience in the environmental field with the last 5 years in the oil and gas and mining sectors. He received a diploma in Renewable Resource Management in 2001, a Certificate of Specialization in Fish and Wildlife Technology in 2002, and his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science in 2004. He has previously been employed with the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority, the United States Geological Survey and Ducks Unlimited Inc. prior to becoming an environmental consultant. He has knowledge and experience in wildlife ecology including terrestrial and aquatic biology and environmental assessments throughout western Canada, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Taylor’s current responsibilities include wildlife and wildlife habitat assessments, listed species surveys, vegetation inventories, construction and reclamation monitoring, and report preparation. Taylor has recently been involved with Environmental Impact Assessments, Mitigation and Restoration Plans and Environmental Protection Plans throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta. Tracy Hansen B.S.A., P.Ag Vegetation Ecologist e-mail: - thansen@lowimpact.ca Tracy graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture, majoring in Plant Ecology. Since then she has held various positions with organizations such as the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority, Saskatchewan Environment and Agriculture and Agri-food Canada. These assignments have placed Tracy to work in all regions of the province developing a strong understanding of the complex vegetation diversity associated with the Prairie, Aspen Parkland and Boreal Forest Ecozones. Tracy has been with Low Impact since 2004 conducting rare plant surveys, vegetation inventories, and report preparation. She is currently involved with Environmental Protection Plans, Mitigation and Restoration Plans and Project Proposals throughout Saskatchewan. Corey Skiftun B.Sc. Environmental Consultant e-mail: - cskiftun@lowimpact.ca Corey received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Saskatchewan in 2002 and also has a certificate in Fish and Wildlife Management (1995) from Lethbridge Community College.Corey has been with Low Impact Environmental Ltd. since November, 2005. He has previously been employed with Ducks Unlimited Canada throughout the Prairie Provinces, Alberta Sustainable Resource Development (Fish and Wildlife Division) and with the Alberta Conservation Association. Corey brings with him species at risk survey knowledge from southern Alberta. Dan Sherling - Environmental Consultant e-mail: - dsherling@lowimpact.ca Dan received his diploma for Integrated Resource Management in 2001. He was previously employed with the Canadian Forest Service prior to becoming an environmental consultant. Dan has a vast experience base in renewable and nonrenewable resource management. Dan has several years experience in the oil and gas sector, the mining industry, as well as highways construction projects. He has been involved with several wildlife, terrestrial habitat, aquatic, and forestry projects throughout western Canada including the Northwest Territories. Dan's current responsibilities include wildlife and habitat assessments, listed species surveys, vegetation inventories, construction and reclamation monitoring, and report preparation. Dan has recently been involved with Project Proposals, Environmental Impact Statements, and Environmental Protection Plans throughout southern Saskatchewan. Shane Porter - Plant Ecologist- B.S., M.S. Ph.D. candidate e-mail: - sporter@lowimpact.ca Shane was born and raised in southwestern Alberta. After graduating from university, he began teaching in the Environmental Science program at the Lethbridge Community College. During his career there, his teaching included Plant Taxonomy, Range Management, Soil Resources and Statistics. During the summers, when not teaching, he did vegetation and soil analysis projects with Waterton Lakes National Park, Shell Canada, Agriculture and Agri-food Canada and the University of Montana as well as developing range management curricula for Montana State University Extension. Shane has completed his coursework, comprehensives and research related to his Ph.D. His research centers on modification to the plant-soil complex as a result of cultivating native grasslands. Shane brings to the Low Impact team an extensive knowledge and experience in conducting vegetation and rare plant surveys. Barry Dau, M.A. - Owner, BD Archaeological Services Barry Dau is an independent historical resources consultant working out of Medicine Hat. Barry received his Master's Degree in Archaeology from the University of Calgary in 1983 and has more than 27 years of experience in providing historical resources services to clients throughout southern Alberta and southern Saskatchewan. Barry started his own company (BD Archaeological Services) in 1997 and has since completed more than 250 Historical Resources Impact Assessments (HRIAs) and historical resources mitigation projects, primarily for clients in the energy development sector. |
