Seniors on Stage!
Workshop - Residency

The perfect blend of exercise and recreation, and a great way to interact with others.

Pariticipants take part in games and exercises designed to engage the body, voice, mind (imagination/memory), and creative spirit, while exploring potential outlets for that creativity: everything from vaudeville to popular theatre to Shakespeare!

This new comminty theatre troupe can then choose to perform for fellow residents, staff and families, or at other residences or community centres.  This can also be used as an opportunity to raise funds in support of other projects or charities.

FEES: negotiated on a case-by-case basis (special rates for non-profits organizations)

RESIDENCIES
Arts in Community

Having an artist in residence is a chance for your school, organization, agency, or business
to foster creativity in all aspects of life and work, and to experience the benefits that fine arts
skills bring to other aspects and functions of learning, such as problem solving, team building,
exploring  models for design-implementation, and fostering creative self-expression.  With a
longer timeframe for implementation, the individual 'players' involved have a chance to take
ownership over their new-found skills, and the community at large has an opportunity to
share in the process by attending arts/cultural events.

Programs are designed through thorough consultation with all the stakeholders, and implemented
to maximize effectiveness within the unique context of each project.  I can also participate in the
process of funding a residency through helping non-profit agencies with determining potential
sources, and aiding in the actual application phase (see below).

Examples of past residencies:

THE VIC HIGH NEIGHBOURHOOD CHOIR (see choir)
Community Play Development
Retreat Workshops
Mask Making
Story-telling & Improvisation
ESL education supplement through Drama
Stage Fighting - the ultimate team sport
Collective Creation & Popular Theatre
Public Speaking
Shakespeare & Oral Language Arts
Improvisation & the Workplace
Mythopoetics
