There are at least eight
paternal ancestors of the Lavallée families in North America (not including the
VALLÉE). For most of these, the Lavallée name is not the original name but
rather a nickname eventually adopted as the family name. Two of these families,
possibly the most numerous of all the Lavallées today, are the PAQUET dit La
Vallée and the LAVALLÉE descendants of Jean LAVALLÉE dit PETIT JEAN. This latter
Lavallée family is the main interest of this website, although there is a lot of
data that might concern other Lavallées families.
