A nominal census of the Province of Canada East (previous name of Quebec) was taken in 1851. The records are kept at the Canadian National Archives. The area of Berthier is available on microfilm C-1115.
I have listed below all the Lavallées that were taken in the Parish of Berthier, including the village itself, as the entries appear on the original.The latter was taken in French. I have divided the data into six pages, with a few notes at the end of each page, for easier reading.
