Hiérôme Roy, laboureur, à Guillaume Couillard de Québec (19727)
Note:
Antoine Cheffault was a victualler of La Rochelle, on contract to the
"Compagnie de la Nouvelle-France", a subcontractor of the "Compagnie des Cent-Associés". Olivier Le Tardif was the manager of the Company Store in Québec and travelled often to La Rochelle. There is no definitive proof that these people were passengers on the Saint-François, as this is not a passengers list, but a list of engagement contracts passed immediately before the departure of the Saint-François which was the only passenger ship retained that year by Cheffault. The Marie and the Marguerite, smaller ships, had been retained for freight only.
The Saint-François was a merchant ship of 130 tuns from Dieppe, owned by its captain.
