MECH 345

I really enjoyed this course.  It was more of a course in hydraulics than fluid dynamics, but it was still very interesting.  The text book (White) was very good and definitely a keeper, and the prof had his own excellent slides/notes which we followed in the class.  I've never seen a better, easy-to-follow set of slides put together before.

We had 6 assignments, 5 labs, two quizzes, a midterm, and a final...  it was a lot of work.  But the math wasn't too difficult and the formulae weren't too hard to understand.

The reason I liked this course was because everything we covered had real-world applications - it wasn't all theory and proofs.  You can envision dealing with the assignment problems in your every-day engineering life: pipe-flow, friction-loss, pumps, and dams.

Hopefully, the same prof is teaching this course - he was easy-going and a cynical sense of humour.  I have all the assignments and most of the other material.  E-mail me if you want them
