The gentle old soul who taught this course has retired, as I understand. The new guy (see MECH 455) has probably switched everything up, so I don't know how much this will help... Either way, the material is interesting, and especially relevant if you plan on going into deign or manufacturing. The course was very straight forward, the assignments did not take up an inordinate amount of time, and attendance was not an absolute necessity. It was another 'easy A'. But maybe things have changed. The format for this course (and MECH 473 - Ferrous and Non-ferrous Metals) were the same: 5 assignments, a midterm, a 50% project (report) and NO FINAL. The text was a course-pack assembled by the prof, and contained everything you needed to know. We were allowed a cheat-sheet for the midterm. We assembled the sheet as a group, and basically condensed the entire course on one letter-sized sheet, both sides, typed in 3.5 font - the file was 7.5 MB. I still have it, so I'll e-mail it to you if you ask. For what it's worth, I have all my assignments and, as I said, the cheat sheet. E-mail me if you have any requests. |
