MECH 455

For some reason, this course is traditionally split into two parts...  the first part of the term is taught by one instructor and is very theoretical.  The second half is taught by another instructor is is more technical.  Dunno what the logic is there, it's just the way it is.  Maybe this has changed...

Instead of being called 'Instrumentation', this course should be called 'how stuff works'.  Electrically, that is.  It builds on ELEC 365, and the lab time is spent building circuits and interfacing with software.  The first half of the term covers typical number-crunching electrical engineering, and the last half is a series of lectures on the latest applications of technology.

I've got no opinion on this course one way or the other.  Although the prof who taught us the first half was a young and motivated fellow.  The second guy seemed to be suffering from 'pompous twit syndrome'.  Funny how there's no middle ground when it comes to profs - you either have awesome instructors, or jerks.  No in-between.

I've got the 4 of the 5 assignments, 2 old midterms, and most of the 6 labs.  I've got it scanned and ready to e-mail if you ask nicely.
