If you believe in supporting the Monarchy in Canada, there are a number of ways in which you can help. JOIN THE VANCOUVER BRANCH OF THE MONARCHIST LEAGUE OF CANADA If you live in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland, you are invited to join the Vancouver Branch of the Monarchist League of Canada. Local membership is free, and by joining, you will receive a newsletter, as well as invitations to all our events. Best of all, you will be showing your support for the Crown in British Columbia. Please e-mail us for more information or any questions or comments you may have. JOIN THE MONARCHIST LEAGUE OF CANADA We also highly recommend that you join the Monarchist League of Canada itself. By taking out a paid membership, you will be showing your support for the Monarchy on a national level, and your membership dues and any donations you may make will greatly help the national office promote the Monarchy across our great country. L6J 5E9 WHAT YOU CAN DO If you are not interested in joining the Vancouver Branch or the Monarchist League, yet you still want to play your part in supporting the Crown in Canada, here are some suggestions as to how you can help. 1) Write letters supporting or defending the Monarchy to newspapers, magazines, federal, provincial and municipal politicians. 2) Encourage local education authorities to present an informed programme of study about the Monarchy in schools. 3) Ask your minister, priest or rabbi to include prayer for the Queen and the Royal Family in every service. 4) Insist that God Save the Queen be sung whenever O Canada is sung. 5) Demand postage stamps with the Sovereign's picture. 6) Encourage the celebration of Victoria Day as the reigning Sovereign's birthday. 7) Suggest that streets, public buildings or new projects be named after the Queen and members of the Royal Family. 8) See that monarchical and historical buildings and monuments are kept in good repair. 9) Present picture's of the Queen, framed if possible, to organisations you are associated with. 10) In short, do what you can to keep the Monarchy visible. |
