COACH KATIE
COACH KATIE
- This will be Katie's fourth year coaching the PMSS JV team.
- Katie was a member of the 2001BC LIONS Cheer Team
- Katie was a member of the 2000-01 Vancouver Senior All Star Cheerleading Team that competed in the USA All Star Cheerleading Nationals.
- Katie is in her third season as a PCA Instructor and loves her job teaching cheerleading throughout Canada.
- Katie is a former gymnast and her gymnastics career began as a little girl. She competed at Provincial level and even kept up with it while she was cheering at Port Moody. Today, she is a third year student at Douglas College and Coaches competitive and recreational gymnastics at Westcoast Gymnastics.
- One of Katie's COOLEST experiences is being "Dark Angel's" Body double during a tumbling-action scene in a 2001 episode....
COACH SOPHIE
- Sophie was a cheerleader at Port Moody Secondary since grade 8. She did three years on JV and just completed her second season as a member of the Senior Competition Cheer Team.
- Sophie is a PCA All Canadian Cheerleader.
- Sophie has been a JV Coach since the 2002-03 Season.
- Sophie was a member of the 2003 X-PRO ELITE All Star Team that represented British Columbia and Canada in Las Vegas at the USA Open Nationals.
- Sophie was one of the Captains of the JV team. She was also the most experienced team member since she did three years on the team. In grade 10, she tried out for the Senior Team and didn't make it. This made her work harder at her stunting and tumbling and the following year, she made the competition team. Due to this experience, Sophie feels very little compassion for others who don't make the Senior Team; she figures they can work for it just like she had to. Sophie will be the first to say that she doesn't regret anything about her five years at Moody.
COACH McCONNELL
- Coach of the 2003-04 VAS Pee Wee All Star Team
- A member of the 1st Place USA National Championship Team in the Performance Cheer Division and the 6th Place Finish in the Show Cheer Division: Port Moody
- Heather was a member of the 1st Place 2003 PCA Candian National Championship Team: Port Moody
- Heather was a member of the 1st Place USA National Championship Team: Port Moody
- Heather is the Co-Captain of the 2003-04 Port Moody Cheer Team
- Heather qualified and competed in the Individual's division at the USA Nationals in March 2003
- Heather is a former member of Vancouver All Star Senior Elite Team: 1999- present
- Heather is presently a member of the 2003-04 Senior Elite All Star Team
- Heather is a PCA All Canadian Cheerleader recipient
- Heather is a former competitive gymnast, diver and trampolinist
