Oak Harbor Competition

Ø We have chartered two Luxury Coach Buses to ensure a safe trip to and from Oak Harbor. The first bus will leave Port Moody Secondary School at 6:00am. Any VAS cheerleader that is on a high school team MUST be on this bus. Coaches Liz Gigante, Brian Chong and Li Peterson will be on this bus. For parents juggling 2 or more kids etc… here is some information regarding VAS that could help you get organized:

Ø The Second bus is intended for VAS cheerleaders and it is leaving Omega Gymnastics at 8am and will do a pit stop at the Cloverdale Arena at 8:45am. The address to this location is 6090-176 Street. Coaches Cassie Wong, Jeremy Wong, Jeanette Agilles and Katie Morrison will be on this bus. Parents wishing to get their other child on the School’s bus may be accommodated if room is available.

Ø There are also two buses departing from Oak Harbor. The first bus is for all high school athletes that are done competing for the day. This bus will leave at approximately 2 pm and be back at Port Moody Secondary at 5:30-6:00pm. Athletes taking the shorter trip pay $25. Cash is easiest but Cheques can be made out to Port Moody Secondary. VAS Staff, & Charles Best Teacher/Coach, Li Peterson, will be on this bus and her phone number is 604 374 1888. I will not be on this bus because I have to stay with VAS until the end.

Ø The second bus will leave Oak Harbor at approximately 7pm and arrive at around 10:30 pm. This bus will make its first pit stop at the Cloverdale Arena and a final stop at Omega. Cell phones will be available for your son/daughter to use. All of the other VAS Staff will be on this bus. Liz’s cell is 604 880 1415. Brian is really good at getting messages and he can be reached at 778 772 8044. The cost to take this longer trip is $30.

Ø Any parent wishing to attend the competition may drive their son/daughter as long as they can ensure a prompt arrival time, I need to know this ahead of time. IMPORTANT… if a different parent is driving an athlete, PRE- APPROVAL and AUTHORIZATION by the Principal, Karen Jensen is required. Please fill in the attached form.

I am aware that my son/daughter will be departing at approximately 6am from ____________________ (write location of departure) and is scheduled to arrive back to this location at approximately 6:30pm.

I am responsible for knowing the whereabouts of my son/daughter and have made arrangements with the driver regarding contact and emergency information. I am aware of the usual risks and dangers inherent in driving across the border, driving on highways and the weather conditions that may arise suddenly in January.

In regards to my child(ren) participating with the Port Moody Secondary cheerleading program(s), I am choosing an alternate means of transportation (other than the one organized and recommended by the school and Liz Gigante for the safety of athletes).
