 As Executive Director of The Fiddle While the World Burns Campaign, I am inviting you to contribute $25.00 or more toward the purchase of violins—with the hope that we will be able to place one or more violins in every home on earth! Our rallying cry is: “A fiddle in every home!”

 

Not long ago my managing editor, Michael Connor, made the observation: “There are too many of us on the face of the earth. We’re like maggots feeding on the carcass of the world. We aren’t going to stop feeding until the world has been denuded of everything that gives us life.”

 

I’m forced to agree with him. When I think about the number of people on the face of the earth, and then observe their rapacious appetites, I come to the conclusion that no amount of “greening” is going to save the situation. Human population is increasing at such an enormous rate, we can’t help but divest the world of everything that gives us life.

 

I’m convinced that human beings exist in order to make a mess of things here on earth, and we’ve done an astounding job of it, so far! However, human beings were never meant to be a permanent fixture here on earth. We are here to make a mess of things so that something else might arise out of the mess.

 

But there is no need to despair! There is no reason to be sad about our situation. Indeed, I am proposing to you out in cyberspace that we go out with a tune in our hearts, and in pursuit of this goal, I am determined to place a least one violin in every home on earth. Contribute a minimum of $25.00 to the Fiddle While the World Burns Campaign, and I will send you a free copy of my novel: Of a Fire Beyond the Hills. When a minimum of $100,000.00 has been collected, I will begin to buy fiddles that I will seek to put in every home on earth, and that way we can go out playing a lively jig.
