This month I decided
to talk about missions trip. Missions
trip was a trip taken down to Vancouver by two youth groups from
Vanderhoof,
the Gospel Chapel’s youth group and NCC’s youth group.
We went down there on the 24th of March and
stayed there for the first week of spring break. We
worked on quite a few things with quite a few different
groups. We were usually split into
different groups to do different things.
We did Life Line, which was a soup kitchen type thing where
people could
come and get some coffee, hot soup, pop, sandwiches or juice for free. We got to visit with the people who came and
that was really good. There was also
Kids Club which is also great because you can spend some time with some
great
kids and have a lot of fun. There was
UGM in New Westminster and in Vancouver where we mad Tote Bags which
are bags
with some essencials for people who can’t afford them.
Salvation Army was one of my favorite
ones. My group handed out free Why
magazines in different hotels on Hastings Street and we sometimes got
to talk a
bit to the people that we gave them to.
after that we got to walk around Hastings Street with two guys
from
Salvation Army who told us about some of the buildings and stuff. We got to help sort some cloths for the
Salvation Army, and last but not least we got to go to the War Room. The War Room is just a small room in one of
the hotels where you could just sit and pray for people.
Once all that was done we went for supper at
a church and that supper was beyond awesome!
Not only did I get to meet new people and hear there stories but
I got
to make some new and better friendships with the people from the youth
groups. I had a great time down there
and I can’t wait until next year to go again.
Well I think that’s all I’m going to write this month so until
next
month.
