Maca (Lepidium meyenii)

Maca is a South American herb which grows at elevations up to 15,000 feet.  The maca root is similar to a radish. The root is known for its ability to increase energy and show a response in the body within a few days. Most herbs are slower acting than that.  Recently Maca has been combined with cat’s claw, an anti inflammatory herb. People are reporting back that they notice old aches are disappearing or reducing with a week or two!  Maca also works for some women with hot flushes, particularly the night sweats. Only one or two capsules are required and as started above it can be fast acting.

Cat’s Claw (Uncaria tomentosa)

Cat’s claw earns it name as it is a thorny vine which grows in the jungle and rainforests.  It is considered a hypotensive – a herb which lowers blood pressure. Cat’s claw slows the heart and reduces cholesterol making it a good cardiovascular herb.

It improves the immune system and is an antioxidant. Some people respond well to cat’s claw anti inflammatory  properties and their arthritis improves. It also works on the digestive system.

Cat’s claw combined with maca is reported to rebuild damaged joints.
