East Francois Lake Volunteer
Fire/Rescue Receives Firetruck
The East
Francois Lake Volunteer
Fire/Rescue can add a new truck to their fire fighting equipment.
This
"addition" has been made possible due to the generosity of
Coquitlam Fire/ Rescue. The donated
fire truck is a diesel powered 1983 Mack Pumper
with the ability to pump 1,250 gallons per minute.
It has a 500 gallon water tank, 1,000 gallon per minute water
cannon, 200 ft. hose reel, instachains, a full compliment of ladders,
an
emergency light package and a Class A foam system and more.
(Statement
from Fire Chief Rick
Spear) "On behalf of East Francois Lake Volunteer Fire/Rescue I cannot
thank the City of Coquitlam enough for their generous donation. It's so refreshing to see a thriving
community like the Coquitlam, with their great leadership and
foresight, to
also recognize the needs of smaller communitys like ours.
When the
District of Coquitlam
received this fire truck from Riverview in 1985, one of my assignments,
as a
then firefighter for the city, was to put this fire truck in service. I never would have thought at that time that
this same vehicle would head North and join me in "semi-retirement".
On behalf
of the residents of East Francois Lake, I cannot adequately express our
appreciation for your contribution to our community's safety." THANK YOU COQUITLAM!
