CANUCK CLASSIC DERBY 2007
FINAL UPDATE: AUGUST 20, 2007

Hi Everyone,

	We’ve had a very busy flying season and the derby is once again 
only a few short weeks away. The birds are in fantastic shape, healthy 
and flying very well. They have been trained weekly and shipped to the 
club race points for separate release.

	While the weather was not ideal the “Sprint to Win” was a great success.  
The birds were released from Midway our 185 mile race point and by the end of 
the day almost all the birds were safely back in the loft.  Congratulations 
to our money winners!!!  Bob Duhra of Calgary scored the top spot winning $812.50, 
second was partners Darrin and Lorne Trow taking home $487.50 and third was 
partners Wray Jones and Dick Ausma winning $325.00.

Information about Derby Day-----Saturday September 1st, 2007	

* parking will be at Coughlin Hall across the street from clubhouse

* as usual breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided free of charge

* alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased from the bar

*raffles and 50/50 draws throughout the day

* huge selection of door prizes----your name will be entered for as 
many times as birds you placed in the race, even if the bird does not go 
to the race you still have a great chance of winning a door prize but remember 
YOU HAVE TO BE THERE   

TO WIN THE PRIZES!!!!

*Everyone is invited and even if you don’t have a bird remaining you still 
have a great chance to win with someone else’s bird viewing and Bonding

* birds can be viewed Thursday August 30th before basketing at 6:00 
only owners or a person assigned by the owner may handle their birds.

* owners may bond and pool either Thursday evening or Saturday morning 
between 9:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M.

* open pooling is between 11:00 A.M. and 12:00 A.M.

* Calcutta will begin at 12:00 promptly

	For owners out of town you are welcome to call the clubhouse direct 
on Thursday evening or Saturday morning at 604-856-3637.  If you cannot attend 
please make arrangements for your entries, bonding and pool monies with 
Darlene Fraser at 604-820-2899 or fax to Darlene at 604-820-2833 or e-mail 
to nrrps@telus.net before Saturday.  We also have a web site posting information

	We are looking forward to seeing everyone once again for a fun filled derby day. 
Even if you didn’t participate this year come out and enjoy the excitement with your 
fellow flyers.
