The North Road Racing Pigeon Society will once again be hosting a fantastic weekend of fun, food and prizes. This year there will be two SPRINT RACES along with a $300.00 prize for ACE PIGEON. The ACE PIGEON with the highest points from a 140 mile and 190 mile race plus the derby race wins. To ensure that all race competitors will have a bird in the final race, the race committee will place extra birds (space permitting) in the loft and if these birds still remain, they will be given by draw to any competitor who has lost all of their entries. There will be no management birds in race.

CANUCK RACE:
-- Birds will be accepted in teams of 4 birds.
-- Cost is $200.00 perch fee ($50.00 per bird) for your team of 4, plus $100.00 non-refundable entry fee for your first bird which is due when birds arrive at the loft--- Total cost $300.00 per team. There is no limit on the number of teams however space is limited to 300 birds, so get your entries in as soon as possible to reserve your perches.
-- $100.00 entry fee for any remaining birds due and payable prior to shipping (optional).
-- Birds will be flown approximately 300 - 350 miles from the East on Saturday Sept. 05, 2009 weather permitting. Distance will be at the discretion of the derby committee.
-- Birds 28 to 35 days old will be accepted from April 11th to May 2nd.
-- Please do not bring birds to the derby loft without arrangements being made with Bill Bogue – 604-856-2259. Out of town birds may be sent by West Jet and they will be picked up at the Abbotsford Airport, please call Bill to make arrangements.
-- Should you lose a bird for whatever reason a replacement bird(s) will be accepted up to May 15th.
-- All birds in the first drop are equal first and will share equally in the accumulated prize money. All remaining birds as well as all pools will be paid out in order of clocking. The discretion of the management team will be the final decision in all matters should any dispute arise.

TWO SPRINT RACES:
-- A 140 mile and 190 mile race will be held approximately 3 weeks prior to derby weekend. Dates will be announced one week prior to the race.
-- Cost will be $30.00 entry per bird per race.
-- Prizes will be split 40/25/15/10/10%.

-- All monies will be paid out in prizes and will be paid in order of clocking.

CAPITOL PRIZE MONEY---“ENTRY FEE”:
-- Capitol Prize money will be paid out as follows: The first bird clocked will receive a BONUS of $200.00. Capitol is paid out 100% and will be distributed: 25%, 15%, 10%, 9%, 8%, 7%, 6%, 5%, 4%, 3%, 2%, 1%, 1%, 1%, 1%, 1%, 1%. Total birds entered in race will determine prize payout.

“A” CALCUTTA BOARD:
-- Owners may bond their birds in the “A” Calcutta board. The bid would be $60.00 High and $40.00 Low. All bonded birds become the property of the owner.
-- Any remaining birds not bonded by owner will be auctioned with starting bids equal to bond. The person having the High bid will also become the owner of that bird.
(Note: any shipping expenses to return birds will be the responsibility of the owner.)
-- Any birds not claimed within 7 days of the conclusion of the Derby Race by their owner will become the property of the North Road R.P.S. and will be auctioned off. Date of auction to be announced later.

"B" CALCUTTA BOARD:
--"B" board will be open to anyone wishing to bid.

AUCTION MONEY: -- HIGH AND LOW ON BOTH CALCUTTA BOARDS
-- Auction money will be paid out as follows: 30% 20% 10% 9% 8% 7% 6% 5% 4% 1%.

POOLS:
-- Pools are paid out 10 times (1 in 10) until there is no money remaining.
-- 12% of all auctions and pools will be retained by the North Road Racing Pigeon Society to cover expenses.

Procedures covering Calcutta and Pools will be provided to all participants prior to the Race.
Race is open for two days except:

  • A—If no birds are home at the end of the second day, the race will remain open for one additional day.
  • B—If no birds are home at the end of the third day, all entry fees will be refunded minus 10%.
    Please do not vaccinate birds before sending, all birds will be done upon arrival.
