THE 2009 CANUCK CLASSIC
THANK YOU LETTER

SEPTEMBER 28, 2008

Congratulations are in order to all of the winners of this year’s Canuck Classic.
The first two birds arrived together for equal first. The first bird clocked belonged
to Dave Walker and the second belonged to John Koene.

Congratulations to both these flyers.

To say that this year has been a very difficult year would be an understatement.
A great many birds were lost due to bad weather, predators etc. On the final day
we had fourty-one birds to take part in the final race. Here again the weather at
the home end was not ideal, however, we had five day birds return in respectful
time and a total of sixteen birds returning in race time.

A great deal of time and effort is required to put on a one loft race, from the
management and training of the birds to all the behind the scene efforts of preparing
for the actual race day. Many thanks to the loft management committee who made the job
much easier. A heartfelt THANK YOU must go out to all the volunteer club members who
supplied the food, the auctioning of the bird calcutta, pools, draws, purchasing of prizes,
collecting of the monies and keeping track of all this. All of this is no small feat.

And last but not least, THANK YOU, to all of those who participated by entering birds
in the Classic. Without your support there would be no DERBY DAY. Thank you to all
the out of town supporters who took that extra time, effort and cost to participate
in our race. It is nice to see flyers support each other at these events and by doing
so we all can be winners.

Wishing everyone the very best in the coming year, May next year be even better.

Sincere regards from the 2009 Canuck Classic Committee
