THE 2008 CANUCK CLASSIC

The North Road will once again be hosting a fantastic weekend full of fun, food and prizes. This year we’ve made a few changes to add to the challenge, one extra race and the opportunity to take home one of the top winners. More races means more money to win!!!

This year we will be holding not two but three races!!!

TWO SPRINT RACES:
--A 185 mile and 250 mile will be held approximately 3 weeks prior to derby weekend.
--Cost will be $30.00 entry per bird per race.
--Prizes will be split 50/30/20
--All monies will be paid out in prizes and will be paid in order of clocking.

CANUCK RACE:
--Birds will be accepted in teams of 4 birds.
--Cost is $150.00 perch fee for your team of 4, plus $100.00 non-refundable entry fee for your first bird which is due when birds arrive at loft--- Total cost $250.00 per team.
--$100.00 entry fee for any remaining birds due and payable prior to shipping.
--Birds will be flown approximately 350 miles from the East on Saturday August 30, 2008 weather permitting.

--The top 15 birds will be auctioned off immediately following the race with the proceeds being split 30% to the breeder and 70% to the club. A great chance to get some proven youngsters and to make some extra money if your in the top 15.
--Birds 22 to 35 days old will be accepted from April 12th to May 10th
--Birds will be accepted on Friday night shipping and Saturday at clockout. Please do not bring birds to the club at any other time without arrangements being made with Dave Walker 604-856-5151 or Darlene Fraser 604-820-2899.
--Replacement birds will be accepted up to May 31st.
--No limit on number of teams, however, space is limited to 300 birds so get your entries in as soon as possible.
--If more than one bird arrives on the first drop they will be classed as equal first and prize money will be paid out to cover the total of their positions, remaining birds will be paid out in order of clocking.
--Pools will be paid out in order of clocking.
AN ADDED BONUS OF $500.00 WILL BE WON BY THE FIRST BIRD THROUGH THE TRAP

“A” CALCUTTA BOARD:
--Owners may bond their birds in the “A” Calcutta board. The bid would be $60.00 High and $40.00 Low.
--Any remaining birds not bonded by owner will be auctioned with starting bids equal to bond.
--Anyone wishing to buyback his bird there will be a $25.00 fee that must be paid prior to shipping. Birds not bought back become the property of the North Road . If the owner qualifies in the top 15 he will be refunded his $25.00 buyback and will receive 30% of monies from his bird in the auction. The club will retain 70%.

"B" CALCUTTA BOARD:
--"B" board will be open to anyone wishing to bid.

CAPITOL PRIZE MONEY---“ENTRY FEE”
--Capitol Prize money will be paid out as follows: The first birds through the trap will receive a BONUS of $500.00. Capitol is paid out 100% and will be distributed: 25%, 15%, 10%, 9%, 8%, 7%, 6%, 5%, 4%, 3%, 2%, 1%, 1%, 1%, 1%, 1%, 1%.

AUCTION PRIZES:---HIGH AND LOW ON BOTH CALCUTTA BOARDS
--Auction money will be paid out as follows: 30% 20% 10% 9% 8% 7% 6% 5% 4% 1%.

POOLS:
--Pools are paid out 10 times until there is no money remaining.
--12% of all auctions and pools will be retained by the North Road Racing Pigeon Society for expenses.
--Race is open for two days except:

A—If no birds are home at the end of the second day, the race will remain open for one additional day.

B—If no birds are home at the end of the third day, all entry fees will be refunded minus 10%.
--Please do not vaccinate birds before sending, all birds will be done upon arrival.
