Painted loft will give the wood structure longer life. My sister Bella and I went shopping for paint to use. At first, I thought of applying gray color on internal walls and eggshell color outside the loft to match the color of our house. My friend TIM MA suggested a darker color outside to hide the dirt the loft would collect over years.

California Style Landing Board

June 18, 2003
After consulting the board members at Alberta Classic. I can now proceed with the California Style Landing Board. I have 2 choices whether to use a hard board or a 1/2" size wirecloth. Both materials are readily available. There are many benefits for using a wirecloth but the downside is a risk of broken toes or legs during racing days. Dual purpose landing board comes to mind and must be completed before weekend.

Earlier this week, I purchased good bargain paint at the nearest hardware store. A friend I met in the store pointed to me several managers' approved discounted paint. My wife likes a chocolate color and there were 2 on sale. I saved 2/3 of budget money for the paints. Today I started my painting job. The weather is not favorable and raining outside while I painted the interior white.

Painted Loft

June 27, 2003
I used an opaque porch paint as my exterior color. Painting isn't an easy task especially if one is using a brush instead of a paint roller. I painted all afternoon taking advantage of the sunny weather in BC.

Celebration!

July 01, 2003
Canada Day celebration is also my day to celebrate at GRIZZLAND. My young birds loft project is now complete. A board is added under the wire flooring in sliding angle to keep the droppings from the soil. I will clean and collect the droppings once a week to use as fertilizer for my garden and other plants in my backyard.
