This remarkable pre-potent line of Janssen pigeons, built around twin foundation cocks, The Paddy Cock and his maternal grandsire, The Tommy Cock has achieved phenomenal success in recent years in arguably the world’s toughest and most prestigious racing Combine, Great Britain’s Mighty Up North Combine. The Paddy Cock is truly a Champion of Champions. He is a winner of the coveted Chronicle Cup and the Up North Combine Gold Medal. In 1999 he won 1st Club, 1st Federation, 1st Section, 1st Up North Combine from 257 miles, beating 20,857 pigeons. In 2000 he came within a whisper of making history when he almost topped the Combine again winning 1st Club, 1st Federation, 1st Section, 1st Millennium Race Up North Combine, 2nd Up North Combine National, this time beating 24,183 pigeons. In close to a century, since its foundation in 1905, only two pigeons have ever topped the British Up North Combine twice. The Paddy Cock is one of only two pigeons ever to win both a 1st and 2nd Up North Combine place. He has a grand total of 16 x 1st place positions racing from 52-447 miles. The Paddy Cock’s parents were both winners. His mother (91 K 47307), a daughter of the Tommy Cock, won as a young bird before being quickly moved to the stock loft. She is the dam of many other winners. His grand father, The Tommy Cock is himself a 1st Up North Combine winner beating 19,580 pigeons. He has a total of 8 x 1st and is a car winner. The Tommy Cock is a grandson of the famous R.S.P.C.A. Cock, which was a son of Perfection and a hen that was a granddaughter of the Janssen Brothers’ Arjan and Irma. The Tommy Cock’s maternal line is Smeulders Janssen stock. The Paddy Cock’s maternal grandmother is The R.S.P.C.A. Hen (Grandmother of 2 x 1st Up North Combine winners and 1 x 2nd Up North Combine winner (The Paddy Cock and Crackerjack Charlie). The Paddy Cock’s father (94 TEE 11290) won 4 x 1st Club plus 27th Up North Combine (27,616 birds). The Paddy Cock’s paternal grandmother (90 TEE 5124) is a prolific stock hen, responsible for many top winners and breeders. 5124 is a great grand daughter of Gust Hofkens’ famous Driebander Cock and a daughter of the Beverdam Hen (breeder of countless Club and Federation winners). The Paddy Cock’s paternal grandfather is also a breeder of numerous Club and Federation winners up to 500 miles. Both the Paddy Cock and Tommy Cock are Sire and G.Sire to countless winners. In recent years a large number of the Paddy Cock’s children and grandchildren have won against large competition (up to 7,000 plus pigeons) in both England and France.
