My name is Glenn Budden. I have been in the commercial fishing business for 30 years. The fishing industry has changed dramatically over the last few years.We have worked hard to overcome the industry's downturn in viability through diversification. Our fishing vessel, the Ocean Venture, and crew are adaptable to many different work situations. Over the past few years we have adapted the Ocean Venture to numerous jobs unrelated to fishing.

We continue to operate our commercial fishing operations. However, the fishing seasons are shorter and more compact. This leaves months during the year when our vessel is available for other uses. With some flexibility, notice and ingenuity we are able to diversify further.

My experience gained through operating and managing a commercial fishing business relates directly to the diversity of the Ocean Venture. Over the years we have networked numerous resources that are available. Crew, cook, SCUBA divers, gillnet punt, seine skiff, power skiff, outboard motors, lines and nets, anchors, etc.

Our vessel and crew can be adapted for work in the film industry, ground water profiling, fishing science/experimental projects, water surveys, remote location tenders, tourism, underwater projects, aqu-culture industry, towing/moving freight, etc.
