Character Code table

Character Codes (#*@‡œ‰†¡&...)

Here are the HTML Character Codes. Each begins with an & and ends with a ;. This is known as the Latin 1 set (West European) or ISO 8859-1. There are 2 styles recognized. The Character Entity set is descriptive, so they are easier to remember. Ø is "& Oslash;", for example (without the space). The larger Numeric Entity set is completely numeric and so harder to remember. Most people use the first unless they need one of the mathematical or punctuation symbols in the second.

Note that not all browsers will recognize all symbols. If you have a problem with the character version, the # version should work. Keep in mind the codes are case sensitive. You are welcome to print this table for your reference. Complete listings were once hard to find.
