Defining Colours with Keywords
HTML 4.0 officially recognizes 16 “keywords” for defining colours
in the BODY BGCOLOR, TEXT, TABLE TD BGCOLOR, etc. tags. While
16 is a very limited set, the colour names are all in English.
This makes it easier to define black or white text, for example,
than using hex #FFFFFF. (Note: JavaScript also allows for colour
names and this list is much longer)
The alphabetical list is:
