2005 FEATURE FILM PROJECT PROGRAM

The following film/video program will run from May 3rd to October 15th , 2005. There will be 12 interlocking workshops where students will learn through hands on experience how to be a film/video maker. The goal of this workshop series is that by the end of the six month course, students will be familiar with the film/video making process and have the confidence to venture out on their own.

The aim of these feature film program is to give you, the student, the basic education you need to make a video or a film but also give you guidance in developing your own project.

Therefore, you will receive both a hands on education, a personal mentorship of your project and excellent exposure to other disciplines and throughout the program you will be meeting a variety of guest artists and independent filmmakers that represent different approaches to film and art.

After the workshops have been completed we will have a two week break from the project and then on August 8th we will begin in earnest the organizing, planning and scheduling for the feature film. We will meet on a weekly basis, (or as often as we have to meet), to deal with specific issues and problems in all areas of the production. We will meet more often as we get closer to the date that we begin production of the feature.

In addition, during this period we will workshop the script with actors and also prepare actors, who have already been cast, by taking them through a rigorous rehearsal stage. This will take place once or twice a week , (or more) up to the week before the project goes into production.

Our goal is to shoot the film between September 15th and October 7th, 2005.
