Workshop 11

AESTHETICS
Tuesday July 12th, 6:30PM to 9:30PM

Music and Aesthetic Considerations

The goal of this workshop is to understand music for its emotional and aesthetic value in the overall plan of your project.

We'll focus on the creative use of music to transform your low-budget video/film into a project that has potential in the marketplace. We will look at what kind of music could be used in different scenes and/or situations for both dramatic and documentary projects.

By matching different types of music with different scenes we can see how music takes away or enhances a scene. We'll discuss where to find the music for a project. Can it be come from home grown talent and or does it have to be purchased from well-known bands or musicians? How does one go about legally acquiring music or finding musicians that are important to the well being of your production?

Assignment: Find the most interesting and suitable music for the scenes in the projects.
