Over the past year, the Vancouver Templeton Lions Club has been involved in many different fundraising and community service projects. The following is a summary of those activities.
A. Club Activities
December 5, 2003 Vancouver Templeton Lions Club Charter Night
Place: Floata Seafood Restaurant (400-180 Keefer St.)
Reception: 5:30pm; Dinner: 6:30pm
Price: $30
-A great success! Many donations received.
December 21, 2003 Vancouver Templeton Lions Club Christmas Party
-Had our first Christmas party/get-together with our own members (about 15 people attended)
-Had a potluck, gift exchange, cake, and games!

F. Fundraising

-Sold mint and almond chocolates to fundraise for our own club
-28 members spent over 100 hours selling
-raised $200 for Canada Missing Children’s Fund
February 13/14, 2004 Valentine’s Day Rose Sales Fundraiser
-Sold roses in Downtown to fundraise $200 for World Vision
March 12, 2004 Orca Sponsorship
-Donated $40 to Easter Seals to help with the Orca project
- our club also donated $300 (raffles sales from Charter) and $125 (Chocolate sales) to the Vancouver Templeton Leo Club
G. Community Services
August 9, 2003 Chinatown Lions 2nd Annual Golf Tournament
-CP Laura, VP Pamela, Treas. Jessica helped with the raffle prizes, silent auction, etc.
September 21&27, 2003 Chinese Cultural Centre Telethon
-CP Laura and VP Pamela helped with the pre-taping (20 hours total)
-8 members helped with the telethon
(4 stayed straight from 9am-1am); 80 hrs total
November 29, 2003 1st Burnaby Santa Claus Parade
-14 members dressed up and marched in the parade (Tailtwister Becky dressed as the Present!); 3 hours each person (42 hours total!)
January 17-21, 2004 Canadian Cancer Society “Wonder Monkey” Sales
-Worked with the Cambie Lions, Unviersity Lions, and Templeton Leos to help sell the animals
-Sold a record of approx. 800 monkeys at Sunbrite!
-14 Templeton Lions dedicated 53 hours!
April 3, 2004 Canadian Cancer Society Telethon
-Helped the Cambie Lions with the Telethon from 10am-1am, answering phone calls accepting donations
-10 members volunteered
May 29, 2004 Chinatown Clean-up
-3 members helped with the clean up; 10am-1pm
May 30, 2004 3rd Annual Vancouver Chinatown Lions Golf Classic
-Purpose: To fundraise for the Templeton Culinary Arts Chef Training Centre
-Place: Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club (Coquitlam)
-Time: 11:00am-10:00pm
-10 Templeton Lions volunteered for reception, watching the Hole-In-Ones, raffles sales, etc.
