Questions that I just cannot answerOne pet peeve I have about many other "Apologetics" web sites is that they seem to give off the impression that they have all the answers. Personally, I don't. I certainly hope you didn't get that impression from reading any of the other sections. In fact, the more I think about the big questions in life, the more questions I get. Hopefully, with time, I'll learn more answers than questions. Is that possible? Anyway, this section is devoted to making sure the other side of my "life investigation" gets fair representation. I don't have all the answers, I don't think I have all the answers, and I try not to pretend that I do have all the answers. This section is devoted to representing a good number of questions that I simply don't have answers for. Perhaps you have no interest in reading this, as most people use the internet to find answers, not questions. Believe those who are seeking truth; doubt those who find it. That quote, in my opinion, is pure rubbish. Why in the world would anybody search for something they don't expect to find? If one truly believes answers are impossible to find, they wouldn't search for them, would they? However, I quote it to demonstrate one thing; answers do not come easy. Rather than not believing anyone who finds answers, I'd suggest we simply evaluate their answers, and recognize that, at best, truth can only be observed from a 'tentative' perspective. This section is devoted to examining some of the questions I have for which answers simply haven't surfaced. Perhaps you will find the occassional Paradox embedded, perhaps I simply do not have a perfect understanding of reality (like any of us do). A few words of cautionBefore reading too much into this section, I ought pass on a few words of caution. By including a section like this in my website, I'm opening myself up to some potential vulnerability. Please bear the following thoughts in mind as you peruse this section. There's difference between logical answers, and "satisfying" answersSome of these questions may in fact have logical answers to them, but the answers are still 'troublesome', or potentially 'unsatisfying'. Please recall that just because we don't LIKE an answer, doesn't mean it is wrong! I am a firm believer in the fact that humans are inherently flawed (so much of human history attests to this), so our perceptions are, by definition, flawed. This may simply mean that we need to re-investigate the questions, bearing in mind our imperfection. Just because I don't have the answer, doesn't mean the answer doesn't existThe possibility is VERY strong, since I've only really been investigating life's question for a few years now, that I simply haven't mused (or investigated) long enough to discover an answer. As I mention in my disclaimer, I don't know everything; while true and satisfying answers may exist, I haven't discovered them yet. Just because I don't have the answer, doesn't mean that what I believe is wrongNo matter what anybody might say to the contrary, EVERYBODY takes SOME things purely on faith. While some people choose to ignore enigmas in their belief systems, I prefer to shine light on those enigmas in my belief system. This, I feel, will help me grow, and challenge me to understand with greater clarity and question with greater honesty. Just because I don't have all the answers does not mean that what I believe to be true is false. This essay last revised September 11, 2002
