Sunday February 19, 2012 (10am - 2pm) at St-Andrew's Hall in Kaslo, BC
Join us on February 19th at St. Andrews Heritage Hall 10-2pm to buy,
swap, talk and discover seeds. We will have several local seed
producers, a perennial flower seed producer, workshops, movies and lots
to learn! Come for the day and bring your friends and some home-grown seeds for the seed exchange table.
The schedule for the day:
11am: Talk/Slideshow/Discussion: A Seed Saver's Journey through India and Nepal with Patrick Steiner
12:30pm: Movie: David vs Monsanto
Hope you can make it!
Sunday February 26, 2012 (1:00 - 3:30pm) at the Lardeau Valley Hall in Meadow Creek
The developer of Mycrobz Bacteria Solutions (Kaslo), Todd Veri, will
share Probiotics for your Garden. Understand how beneficial bacteria and
yeast act as a fertilizer factory in the soil, protect your plants,
recycle all your organic waste, germinate seeds, dispose of noxious
weeds and seeds, and even save the bees.
A Seed Exchange will follow for you to obtain seeds which the Lardeau Valley Seed Savers (LVSS) members have grown.
Sunday March 4, 2012, 1 till 4
pm at the
Slocan
Park
Community Hall,
in Slocan
Park, BC.
Admission is by donation.
This
afternoon is dedicated to the novice and experience gardeners who
wish to live a healthy, organic lifestyle. There's an ever increasing
group of
farmers who are nurturing a wide range of fruit and vegetable seed,
cuttings
and root stock, who participate at the event. Perhaps you have a lot of
something you'd like to share, perhaps there's something you need.
Heritage
seeds can be found in abundance, as can ample knowledge on the issues
and
challenges facing the organic gardener. If needing table space it must
be
pre-booked.
A portion of the
proceeds
go toward supporting the Slocan River Valley Farmers Group.
