Peter began his film career in 1983, volunteering at the University of British Columbia Film Society. He worked in their movie theatre as ticket taker, cashier and projectionist. In an administrative capacity, he served as Personnel Manager and Production Manager. He was awarded "Best Supporting Member" and made his first film "Don't Look Twice," which he wrote, produced, directed, shot and edited. He originally entered Sciences at UBC and made the switch to the Film Program, taking courses that included Film Production (camera, lighting, directing, editing, sound), Animation, Screen Writing, Music for Film, Film History and Theory. He worked on over 10 short films, in all aspects of production.
In 1986, Peter graduated from the UBC Film Program and co-founded Creative Image Film & Video Productions Inc. in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In 1987, he sold his one hour drama, "Psychic Avenger," to First Choice and Superchannel pay TV. His credits included writer, producer, director, cameraman and editor. Over the years, he worked hard as a corporate video producer, serving over 19 companies creating over 34 corporate videos. His clients included Ballard Power Systems, Bootlegger Fashion Wear stores, the British Columbia Association of Optometrists and McDonald's Restaurants.
In 1993, he formed a new partnership called the Westside Moving Picture Company to write and develop independent feature projects. He produced two Investor Marketing Videos, each winning national awards, the ITVA-Canada Golden Maple and ITVA-Canada Bronze Oak. In the following years, Peter worked in the film industry, including a studio tenure with the Paramount Pictures TV series, "Seven Days," managing video aspects of production.
Peter also contributed to the community, volunteering over two years at the Vancouver Crisis Centre as a distress line counselor. Twice, he served as a judge for the International Television And Video Association's "Video Festival Canada."
With his dedication to quality and creative excellence, strong production background and confident decision-making abilities, he is a valuable asset to any project, or production team. Peter is currently developing his own projects.
