Alberta Camp Cherith (pronounced Keer-ith) is an official camping
Ministry of Pioneer Clubs and an interdenominational Girl's (only)
Christian camp.
Our aim is two-fold: to introduce campers to a saving
knowledge of Jesus Christ, and to help them apply Christian principles to daily
living.
Camp Cherith helps campers gain an appreciation of
nature, develop lasting relationships and learn new skills in a
safe environment under the direction of qualified and trained staff.
Where did the name Camp Cherith come from?
Cherith comes from the story of Elijah in the Old
Testament. Cherith is the name of the brook the Lord sent the prophet
Elijah to for spiritual refreshment. While Elijah was there, ravens brought food
to him. You can read all about this in 1 Kings 17:1-6.
Today we look at Camp Cherith as a place campers come to learn
more about Jesus Christ and have their hearts refreshed by the Lord.
