intro         = 'My first exposure to photography happened in 1971 in college while studying Journalism and Broadcasting.  The reaction and interplay of light fascinated me on the television screen but more so, captured forever on paper. During that first year I only had the use of the cameras from the college and shot exclusively B&W because I could also control the final output. Over the years I have shot portraits, news & sports, product shots, fine art, postcards and so much more and I have always looked for that \"different viewpoint\".  A long time ago I heard a phrase that has affected my photos for as long as I have had a camera.  \"A photo is a poem written without words\" confirmed that I have always looked for the poetry of the earth.  I try to record that poetry in a photo so it can be shared. <br>I work in digital now because this media has so much to offer. Photos can be ultra-realistic tack sharp or altered to tell another story altogether, exactly as poets express their stories with words and metaphors. <br>';
