Herin you will find my rants and raves . . .

There's a t-shirt that I just love . .. it says -- "Never Underestimate the Power of Stupid People in Groups. I think will let those people know what it is I absolutely love about them!

I'm disappointed with the state of the world today . . . I've never been a big fan of people but it seems to get worse and worse the more I spend time on the web. There are so many good sites out there but uit's the greedy, backstabbing pieces of crap that ARE out there that make me so mad I could spit.

As newsbits come up I will rant and rave and give my opinion of the whole deal to those who care to listen to my tirades.

Here we go once again . . . This website thing is for the birds methinks. I just don't get it personally . . . I have lots of things to say but I never type them out for others to read . . . nor do I use something simple like Blogger or Radio or MT or some fool thing to get my thoughts out on a page in a simple, easy or quick manner. I've come to the conclusion that hand-coding is the only way to go. Others may disagree of course but hey who's gonna notice either way? LOL . . . ah well whatcha gonna do?!

This may -- no will probably get moved to the rantsland page but until then . . . ENJOY!

So anyway -- what's got me all worked up and entering in another post on my little ole website? Well . . . should I give you the long story or the short one? Let's make it easy on you, the reader NOT!!!. . . I work in a bowling centre -- two actually and they're owned by the same dude. I used to wirk in these centres over 6 years ago too but I quit, thinking I'd move onto bigger and better things (except for a 6 month stint with Cypress County -- I didn't move that far)! Anyway, out of all the sports in the world there is no bigger groups of whiners than bowlers. Bowlers whine, that the lane conditions aren't right, the air is too cold, their ball doesn't move like they want it too . . . the list goes on and on and on . . . Personally it's getting tiring. However -- tonight some dude brings his family out for our only glow-bowl session. The glow-bowling starts at 10:00PM and he's bringing his wife and kiddies (ages 10-13 I'mm pretty certain) and they bowl for 2 hours. so that' gets em out of there about 12:00. Now this isn't bad -- but we had some technical problems and we extended their bowling time to 12:30. We don't hear a peep out of this dude except for a couple problems with their lanes -- no big deal -- they were very nice and very patient with our problems.

Next thing I know, it's 20 minutes after 12:00 and the guy comes up and says to me, "Well I have to tell you, we didn't have a very good time tonight, we didn't have fun." Well right away I apologise and ask what the porblem was. He tells me he wasn't happy with our technical problems -- I apologised profusely again and went to inform him that we DID let them bowl beyond the 12:00 mark -- which meant we had to stay longer and in essence eat that cost --- but he said that was nobody's fault and that wasn't a big deal (how nice of him to make sure he stated that one tho eh?) We had to move a group of guys over beside them and they weren't happy with it -- they weren't being destructive but they WERE goofing off, throwing two balls on two separate lanes at the same time (one bowler), and he tried to make excuses. However -- HE TOOK 2 HOURS AND 20 MINUTES BEFORE HE CAME AND TOLD ME THAT HE WAS UPSET!!!!!!!!!! I don't get it -- I said, "I wish you had have come to me sooner about this . . ." (As I had no idea that these guys were bothering him) SO he retorts in the uppity tone that befits a man with a beard so well-manicured it makes me sick . . . (the guy spends more time on his beard and appearance than I take to . . . never mind . . . petty . . .) -- "Isn't it YOUR job to be out there to make sure this stuff doesn't happen?" I was floored . . . I tried being calm and say -- I'm sorry sir but I can't be in all places all the time -- but he replies again -- well if you all weren't over THERE -- and he thumbs over to the concession area -- I lost it -- I said well SOMEONE HAS TO COOK . . . If you had told us sooner then we could have taken care of this . . . the guy gets even more attitude and storms off with his nose in the air and his family following along -- amazingly all with the same look of contempt and disgust on their faces . . .

I don't get people -- I know we can't please them all -- but this is how I saw the situation. If bowlers don't tell me something is wrong, I can't assume something is wrong. I HAVE TO ASSUME (or presume as the case may be) that everything is all right until I am told otherwise. This hoity-toity dude bowls for almost two and one half hours before even bothering to tell us that something was even remotely amiss. I could have eased his concerns almost immediately had I been informed that they were upset. However, I didn't have to talk to the rowdies next to them because they weren't being destructive, nor were they being overly loud or disruptive to the rest of the centre. Working in a centre with music blaring and pins and balls POUNDING out their own rhythm throughout the night, you learn to hear things that are off somewhere in the centre. These guys are somewhat of a bunch of regulars in that they're in once or twice a month to bowl during glow-bowl and, eat and drink and have a good time. The family -- first time in I can almost guarantee it. Besides -- WHO THE HELL BRINGS THEIR 10 YEAR OLDS OUT FROM 10:00 PM until Midnight anyway???!!!???!!! And then have the audacity to tell me how to do my job when they have absolutely no clue how difficult it is to police a centre and keep it running efficiently and smoothly AND PLEASE FUCKING EVERYONE IN IT AT THE SAME TIME!!!???!!! Bloody insane dude . . . insane in the membrane.

OK, I feel better -- now I have that out of my system -- onto another task at hand. What should I do with this website? Well I think I'm going to turn it into a blog of one kind or another -- HOWEVER - I don't like the way these "blogs" look -- they all look the same. All the Moveable Type ones look similar, all the blogger ones look similar, I just found out about Radio Userland tonight and haven't really looked at them yet -- but the theme is all the same in all of these . . . the layout and templates all look the same. I will say this for some of them though -- they have taken what they have and made it look absolutely amazing -- take Chris Pirillo's blog -- the thing looks awesome with his chicken scratch and yellow tablet paper adorning the site (chris.pirillo.com) -- but I just don't like it myself -- in fact . . . I think mine looks like it too -- though I've hand-coded all of mine . . . and I had just as much fun believe me -- well maybe not AS much!

I do however like the sidebars and I know I have a lot of work to do on this site -- but I'm sure I can make it all the better given some time and some effort. SO from this mornign forward (almost 5 in the AM) I will attempt to make this site a daily affair . . . I don't know how I'm going to do it but I'll figure it out . . . I just don't know if I'll blog in the traditional and invented-by-someone-else manner.

I'm kinda tired now -- I still may not sleep at all and I have to go bowling with my young'un in the morning -- I just hope the dude books a lane at the other centre Saturday night so I can see his hoity-toity face two nights in a row . . . and since I'll have hardly slept before I see him again it could get mighty interesting!!! Good night to all . . .
