![]() ![]() This is a picture of Alexander R. Auchinachie (1826 - 1892). Alex was a blacksmith and emigrated from Portsoy, Banffshire, Scotland to Binghamton, New York with his family in about 1872 and later with his youngest son, Peter, to Duncan, British Columbia, Canada. He died in Duncan in 1892. ![]() Or here's another picture of a couple of dapper young fellows: Jerry and Billy Auchinachie. This was taken a few years ago, eh Jer? See Jerry's review of the Saltoun Ballad and the Marquis of Huntly's Retreat. ![]() This is the Abirchirder Town Council ca. 1897. Although this is not a very good reproduction, William Auchinachie is seated in the center of the front row. He was Provost (Mayor) of the town. The photo was sent in by Nancy Auchinachie McKidd of Aberdeen, Scotland. ![]() This is another photo of William Auchinachie sent in by Graeme Boocock of Ontario, Canada. It's fascinating that we received two photos of the same man from opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean. This is a photograph of Mary Auchinachie Ogg, mother of William Taylor Ogg who drowned in Albany, Western Australia in 1892. She was the younger sister of William Auchinachie (above). Barbara Durant sent in both the photo and the story from Adelaide, Australia. |
