P
ainting has been a source of joy for me for as long as I can remember. I love to watch colours run into each other whether it is on my palette, on my canvas, or on my clothes. Colours are beautiful all on their own, but I take endless pleasure in organizing them into simple stories that unfold on my canvases.
People are often curious if I align myself with any particular movement or how I would describe my style. I would say I have been most influenced by the work of the Impressionists simply because I love the way I feel when I look at the work. If people feel good looking at my work then my highest aim has been accomplished. Whatever subject or style I employ, my hope is to illuminate and share the beauty I see in the world.
Since graduating from Emily Carr in 1998, I have enjoyed the support of a group of private collectors and have participated in several group and solo exhibitions at galleries in Vancouver and Calgary. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions regarding prices, availability, commissions or otherwise. Thank you for your interest and support!
Warmly,
Sharon
