A former veteran National Correspondent for The Globe and Mail newspaper in Canada, Ross Howard teaches journalism at Langara College in Vancouver, and is an author and freelance writer.
His recent freelance writing assignments have included major Canadian magazines, documentary films and public, private and non-profit interests.
He also has extensive experience in international media development as a consultant, trainer and analyst.
He has trained journalists in conflict-stressed countries including Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Burundi. In addition he has developed curricula and written journalism training handbooks for international agencies which have been translated into several languages.
He has provided media and peacebuilding analyses for a number of international clients and interests, and is the author of essays and articles on media and democratization.
