| Having learned a great deal about the many ways to make a real woven tapestry I decided to do research into the history and social production of tapestries. I completed a Master of Fine Art at the University of Saskatchewan, and while doing the research I made seven in the series of VIRTUE tapestries which were called respectively - FAITH, HOPE, FELICITY, PATIENCE, PRUDENCE, CONSTANCE and OLD GIRL. My M.F.A. thesis, which was supervised by Dr. Lynne Bell, is titled Love, Labour and Tapestry: Unravelling an Edwardian Legacy. was never published, and I am currently preparing a revisited version that will take into account the subsequent accumulation of years of experience I have gained as an exhibiting artist. |
